Who We Are
Established in 1972, we have become one of the finest aviation training facilities in the world.
Est. 1972
Students from all 50 states and more than 63 countries have attended The Airline Academy’s programs to meet the evolving hiring needs of the commercial airline industry.
Today, our Airline Customer Service and Flight Attendant students receive hands-on training at JetBlue University in Orlando, Florida, an active airline training facility used to train airline professionals. Students train using professional airline training equipment, including JetBlue’s full-motion simulator and emergency evacuation equipment, providing an experience that goes far beyond a traditional classroom setting. Training inside an actual airline training facility gives our students valuable firsthand exposure to the equipment, environment, and training standards they can expect to encounter in the airline industry.
Our Placement Team brings extensive airline industry experience and includes current and former flight attendants, as well as a former airline recruiter. Graduates have the opportunity to participate in on-site airline hiring interviews, with continued guidance and support from our Placement Team. Our commitment does not end at graduation. Graduates continue to receive placement assistance as they pursue opportunities and work toward launching their careers in the airline industry.
The Airline Academy holds a letter of exemption from the State of Florida Board of Education in connection with its contract training relationship with an FAA Part 121 certified air carrier.
Mission
As an established flight attendant school with more than 50 years of experience, our mission is to provide career-focused flight attendant training that prepares students with the knowledge, skills, confidence, and professional preparation needed to pursue a successful career in the airline industry. Through a combination of focused education, hands-on airline training, interview preparation, and continued placement support after graduation, we give our students the tools and experience they need to stand out in a competitive hiring environment.
History
The Airline Academy was founded on decades of real-world aviation experience. Founder Nino Ciancetta retired as US Airways’ all-time senior pilot after logging more than 45,000 flight hours throughout his distinguished career. His leadership extended beyond the flight deck, serving as Vice President of the Airline Pilots Association (ALPA), Chairman of the Aviation Safety Board, and a member of President Richard Nixon’s Aviation Advisory Board. His experience, leadership, and commitment to aviation helped establish the foundation that continues to guide The Airline Academy today.
Instructors
Our instructors bring decades of real-world airline experience into the classroom, with professional backgrounds that include major carriers such as Delta Air Lines, American Airlines, and JetBlue. Their firsthand industry knowledge gives students insight into the expectations, standards, and realities of working as a flight attendant.
Our students receive personalized attention, individual guidance, and practical coaching throughout their flight attendant training. More than simply teaching the curriculum, our instructors help students build the confidence, professionalism, and skills they need to successfully transition from flight attendant school to a career in the airline industry.
